Serious About Local Fish
Those serious about island cooking are serious about local fish. To meet some of the best local fishermen in BVI, head to one of the many fishing events held around the islands. The Thanksgiving Game Fish Challenge takes place on the North Sound on the weekend after Thanksgiving Day and produces wahoo, tuna, and kingfish. Likewise, the Spanish Town Fisherman’s Jamboree in Spanish Town serves as an annual celebration of fishing. In the meantime, try on this local BVI recipe for size:
BVI 'Cue
If you love the ’cue, then head over to the colorful Sidney’s Peace and Love Restaurant (284-494-4941) on Jost Van Dyke in Little Harbour (284-495-9271). Sure the lobster dinners are all the rage, but don’t pass up a chance to sample some of the best BBQ ribs in BVI. BBQ loyalists will also want to try C&F Restaurant (284-494-4941)on Tortola for some super fine BBQ.

Many of the best island recipes are inspired by the lush and tropical gardens that blanket BVI. For a real understanding of how the natural surroundings influence everything from BVI cooking to BVI culture, make
sure to explore the many national parks (many are accessible only by boat). Here are just a few of the many worth a visit:
