Eco Wonderland on Mosquito Island?

The word on the street is that Sir Richard Branson plans to turn his Mosquito Island in the British Virgin Islands into the most environmentally-friendly resort in the world.  You got it -- good ol' Branson is cooking up an eco wonderland, a zero carbon resort located just off Virgin Gorda.

Mosquito Island is currenlty uninhabited,  but may soon be home to a swank beachfront restaurant and 20 villas powered by solar and wind, and cooled by thermal airflows (which means no air conditioners).  Plus, the restaurant will boast food from an organic orchard and cars will use biofuels.

The response from the government has been positive and the VI planning department is reviewing Branson’s plans that aim to be environmentally friendly in every aspect.
