BVI Travel Stories Wanted for New Book, iGO iWRITE

Check it out BVI travel fans – an innovative new web app on Facebook has hit the streets, allowing travelers to report on their favorite island destinations – or any other favorite hot spot -- from around the world. What does this mean for BVI? Well, it’s the perfect platform to promote what we already know: there’s nothing better than the BVI and “Natures Little Secrets.”

The web app, called iGO iWRITE, does more than just allow people to chat about their favorite sandy spots, the online community is actually working together to compile these hidden gems online and then ultimately create a series of travel publications in hard copy as part of a collaborative "group think" project for travel buffs. As such, iGO iWRITE is positioned as “Facebook's first book,” a user generated travel series that as battle hardened travelers, scribes, and BVI fans abuzz. The premise is simple, but with far reaching results -- both amateur and professional writers simply travel, write about their adventures, and then help shape the direction of the final book (s).

If seeing your name in print isn't incentive enough to write about your travels, resorts such as the San Juan Marriott are sweetening the pot a bit with the chance to win five years of free vacation at the resort if you get your story published after staying at the hotel. While the San Juan Marriott is of course not located in BVI, it represents the kind of creative thinking that is occurring within the iGO iWRITE experiment and its these kinds of prizes found within the San Juan Marriott’s "Vacation 2.0" package that are now serving as examples of how Caribbean travel fans, and the travel industry at large, are collaborating to highlight to the world the very best sunny spots.
