Hidden Gem of the Week: LSL Restaurant and Bakery

Ever heard of the LSL Restaurant and Bakery on Virgin Gorda? If you’re a tourist, probably not. However, most islanders know that this hidden gem packs a punch. Whether it’s their all-you-can-eat Sunday BBQ or their freshly baked pastries and cakes, the locals running the show at the LSL smack of authenticity and loads of kitchen talent. On Tower Road, in South Valley, look for the tiny LSL Restaurant or give them a ring-a-ding-ding at 495-5151. Other options you’ll want to sample: shrimp in beer batter, fresh homemade pasta, rum chicken, seafood delight, and veal veracruse. On a recent visit the owner was proudly inviting her patrons to a back room where she had decorated a large and extravagantly decorated homemade wedding cake for an island wedding that very day.
