Ayana Brathwaite and the BVI Dancefest Do it Again!

Ayana Brathwaite, Chairperson of the BVI Dancefest, has done it again! That’s right, Brathwaite, along with her always lively committee, treated BVIslanders to yet another successful annual Dancefest, held at Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall in honor of local fathers and mothers. The three hour show boasted a mixture of ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop.

The BVI, which is home to a booming performing arts culture, is particularly proud of its local dance talent. Sandy Lyons, Director of the BVI Dance School, is to be credited in large part for organizing, nurturing, and growing such dancing phenoms in the area. Also on the list to be thanked are BVI hometown heroes such as Sarah Penney, Jo-Ann Downing, Heather Forde-Butcher, Raja Pemperton and Rosina Warrican.
