Foxy Callwood Snags Some Much Deserved Props

Hats off to the BVI London Office for hosting a recent –and much deserved – shindig for no other than Mr. Philicianno "Foxy" Callwood, everyone’s favorite BVIslander.

Foxy Callwood, bar owner/singer/mixologist, is the famed proprietor of Foxy's Bar and Restaurant, on Jost Van Dyke.  Foxy can now add another title to the mix:  the Territory's latest recipient of the medal as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).

Foxy is no stranger of these kinds of accolades, as this living legend has previously been named to the Queen's New Year's Honours List for his contributions to tourism and the preservation of the Territory's culture.  In other words -- he throws one heck of a party.

While giving props to Foxy, Premier Honourable Ralph T. O'Neal had this to say:  "This is a special moment not only for Foxy and his family but also for the entire BVI as we join him in celebrating this personal milestone."

The Premier added, "as one of the Territory's prominent tourism ambassadors, Foxy has promoted our islands at many events, both personally, and in conjunction with the BVI Tourist Board."

Foxy, whose digs have routinely been named "one of the best places in the world to ring in the New Year,” has served as a leading entertainer, entrepreneur, musician and storyteller in the BVI.  In fact, Dawn Smith, the Director of the BVI London Office, has pegged Foxy as "one of the Territory's national treasures."

Cheers to you, Foxy.
