Best Places to Fish

Looking to catch the Big One?  Then try out some of these honey holes!

Fishing on Beef Island: You can practically begin fishing just after stepping off the plane on Beef Island. Just north of the bridge, anglers can find a large flat that can be reached by foot or by boat (recommended).  If you’re not having any luck, wade out to the grass-bottom flat, south of Sprat Point in Trellis Bay.

Fishing on Guana Island: If you’re looking for tarpon, head to Monkey Point on the southern tip of Guana Island (boat required).

Fishing in Sea Cows Bay (Tortola): A superb flat next to the Pieces of Eight apartment complex.

Fishing in Maya Cove (Tortola): Drop a line near the cargo barge dock, just off the main road.

Fishing Fat Hogs Bay (Tortola): East of Whale Rock, you’ll want to drop a line between the island and the bushes just off Beef Island (boat required).

Fishing West End (Tortola): For tarpon and bonefish, try the small bridge (both sides) that separates Frenchman’s Cay from Tortola.

Fishing on Anegada: Known as ground zero for BVI flat fishing, you won’t want to miss a crack at the eleven-mile-long flat stretches along the south coast.

Fishing Jost Van Dyke: For bonefish, you’ll want to try the shallows between Little Jost Van Dyke island and Jost Van Dyke island.
